WHERE DO WE START?
What we put into our bodies has a profound effect on our growth and general well being. That is why choosing baby and kiddies will leave you feeling rested and assured that you are choosing wisely. With all the worry around salt and sugar in our daily diets and those scary allergens that can cause baby food allergies, baby tastes have committed to not adding any salt and/or sugar to our meals. If there are allergens, we state this clearly on our labels.
WHAT ABOUT NASTIES
Our products are additive, preservative and stabilizer free. We do not use any salt or sugar.
We have wonderful relationships with our suppliers, who have provided us with the freshest fruit and vegetables, free-range and hormone-free meat for the past ten years.
Our healthy baby food is homemade by dedicated chefs who take the utmost care to ensure our food is perfect every time.
WHAT ABOUT ALLERGENS
Baby Tastes and Kiddies Tastes food is made in a kitchen that uses tree nuts, soy, gluten, dairy, fish, egg and wheat. When introducing these allergens: egg, peanut butter, fish, and dairy, it is essential to have an antihistamine syrup available for any allergic reaction. Consult your paediatric nurse before starting with the allergen range.
Introduce one allergen meal per week. Give one cube only for the first three days; thereafter, feed chosen allergen twice a week. Use the three-day rule for a baby between 4 and 6 months.
Symptoms that my baby may have baby food allergies include:
- Blotchy, ‘wheel-like’ rash around the mouth extending to the chest within 20 minutes of ingesting food
- Projectile vomiting
- Facial swelling
These symptoms should subside within 20 minutes of the antihistamine being administered. Wait one month before trying that food again. Baby food allergies need not cause you sleepless nights. In fact, introducing your baby to allergens from 6 months is now recommended. A word of advice, always read the labels of products you buy.
